What is it?

Virtual therapy has become the norm in the time of this pandemic, stay-at-home orders, & quarantine. Telehealth includes therapy conducted via an online platform utilizing video & audio, or over the phone.

Does it work?

Telehealth, although it has its obvious limitations, can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy sessions. With this advanced technology we are able to still connect & interact in a genuine way. We are confident it elicits the same results as a regular face-to-face session would.

Still on the fence?

Whether you have phone or Facetime anxiety (*Chelsea raises hand* that’s me!), are not technologically savvy, unsure about the security and confidentiality of it, or are just simply afraid to try something new, we want to encourage you to push through & give it a shot! It actually doesn’t take long to adjust and get past any initial anxiety & settle into the groove of a normal therapy session. The platforms are made to be very user friendly no matter how familiar you are with them (most have easy access to apps or can be accessed via a webpage without having to create any sort of account or sign up for the service). Confidentiality is always our highest priority & we utilize HIPAA compliant platforms. We do require the use of a confidential space on both ends for the duration of our session & that all parties are out of hearing range from any other person not involved in our session. And finally, trying something new can be super scary & difficult - we get it! We are here to help you make the transition as smooth as possible!
